Corruption at all levels: A classic example
Issue of printing bogus Marksheets and unapproved admissions in Leelavati Awhad Institute of Technology is a classic sample of corruption at all levels in the DTE and University of Mumbai. FIR is filed in this case by the Badlapur Police but surprisingly University of Mumbai is still not bothered to save its reputation and credibility and have not acted till date.
One of the trustee’s who is involved in the scam of the said institute was dean of faculty of engineering & technology at University of Mumbai.
The Institute Trustee’s and Principal claim publicly in their mandatory disclosure updated on 01/07/2012 on the Institute website that they have Permanent affiliation from the University of Mumbai (Copy Enclosed).
The details of the issue are as under:
According to university norms, every admission to management and technical courses needs to be approved by the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti (PNS) – an admission regulatory body of the DTE. However, in the past four years, since its inception, the college has failed to get approval to admission of even one of the total 1,200 students.(Minutes of the meeting of PNS (Copy Enclosed)) News in Indian Express March 30, 2014 states that
- According to DTE officials, the college was reminded several times in the past two years to apply for approval, however, officials alleged that they never responded to the reminders. “The rule is that once the PNS approves the admission, it is registered with the university. However, the admission forms of students, who appeared for the final-year engineering exams conducted by Mumbai University, were not registered and hence their results have been withheld,” said G B Dhanokar, Deputy Director of DTE, Mumbai.
- As per RTI from university that No staff and Principal is approved by university from last 4 years (Copy Enclosed) and as per information university has not sent any LIC ( Local Inquiry Committee ) so following questions are arising in this case
- If merit list of 2010-11 is not approved by PNS (Pravesh Niyantran Samiti) then how DTE included the college in CAP (Centralized Admission Process) in 2011-12 for first year?
- If merit list of 2010-11 is not approved by PNS (Pravesh Niyantran Samiti) then how DTE included the college in CAP (Centralized Admission Process) in 2011-12 for Direct Second Year?
- If merit list of 2010-11 is not approved by PNS (Pravesh Niyantran Samiti) then how Mumbai University accepted the forms of examination the students 2010-11 for first year?
- If merit list of 2010-11 is not approved by PNS (Pravesh Niyantran Samiti) then how Mumbai University declares the results of students 2010-11 for first year in both half’s?
- If merit list of 2010-11,2011-12,2012-13,2013-14 are not approved by PNS (Pravesh Niyantran Samiti) then how Mumbai University accepted the forms and declares the results of students 2011-12, 2011-12,2012-13 . And denied for 2013 Dec results?
- If merit list of 2011-12,2012-13,2013-14 are not approved by PNS (Pravesh Niyantran Samiti) then how DTE included the college in CAP (Centralized Admission Process) for first year and direct second year?
- If merit list of 2010-11,2011-12,2012-13,2013-14 are not approved by PNS (Pravesh Niyantran Samiti) then how Shikshan shulk Samiti finalized the fee of college for year 2010-11,2011-12,2012-13,2013- 14.as both offices are governed by same staff?
